COVID-19 Updates
East Arkansas Family Health Center is committed to responding to the needs of our communities during the COVID-19 pandemic
EAFHC is working with local and state health departments to provide accurate, up-to-date information about the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. EAFHC has eight acute care sites that offer a variety of services including testing for respiratory illnesses like influenza (the flu), streptococcal pharyngitis (strep throat), and COVID-19 (coronavirus). Patients experiencing symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, or shortness of breath are encouraged to contact one of our sites for an appointment.
EAFHC requires all persons entering our facilities to have their temperature checked and wear a mask regardless of the purpose of their visit. If you arrive at one of our facilities without a mask, you will be asked to wear one. If you do not have a mask, one will be given to you and you are REQUIRED to wear it throughout your visit at EAFHC (waiting areas, exam rooms, hallways, and bathrooms included). Should you be found to have an elevated temperature (fever greater than 100.3) at the time of presentation to our facility, you will be asked to return to your car and await a telephone call for further screening and instructions.
- Same-day appointments are available at all sites on a first-come, first-served basis to address your health care needs
- Daily drive-up COVID-19 testing is available at each site. (You must be screened and meet criteria before a test will be performed.)
- Call our COVID-19 Hotline at (870) 514-2795 for screening and general questions about COVID-19. (You can also visit the CDC website at www.cdc.gov/covid19/)
- Telehealth visits are available with our medical and behavioral health providers to allow you to remain safe in your home while providing continuity of care.
-

- TYPES OF VISITS THAT ARE APPROPRIATE FOR TELEHEALTH VISITS INCLUDE:
WHAT DO I NEED FOR A TELEHEALTH VISIT?
- A smartphone with a working camera and microphone.
- Internet access on your phone or wifi connection.
- Google Chrome on your smartphone.
- Scale, blood pressure machine, and pulse oximeter are helpful to have, but not a must. If you have diabetes, please have a glucometer to test your blood glucose.
- Someone to assist you by holding the camera and/or performing the physical exam for you during your visit.
DON’Ts FOR THE TELEHEALTH VISIT
- Do not schedule your visit for a time that you are unable to be at home as you need to be in a quiet, well-lit setting and be able to perform certain parts of your physical exam.
- Do not dress inappropriately for your visit; this is the same as an office visit but occurs in your home instead of in the office.
- Do not have excessive noise or traffic in the area where you are sitting during your telehealth visit.
We are offering weekly community mass screenings for people who are both symptomatic and asymptomatic. The testing will rotate to locations throughout the EAFHC communities. Please call the center or check our website and Facebook page for further information.
