Behavioral Health
East Arkansas Family Health Center, Inc., has an embedded behavioral health team in the primary care practice. The team provides consultation, assessment, and intervention to address issues ranging from traditional mental health (e.g., depression and anxiety) to health psychology issues (self-management of diabetes, terminal illness, obesity, chronic pain, healthy diet, etc.).
Health psychology studies psychological and behavioral components to understand how psychological, behavioral, and cultural factors contribute to physical health and illness.
The behavioral health team collaborates with the primary care staff to help people improve their quality of life and address specific health issues.
